LIBRARY was an environment in which everything, including the architectural elements, could be interacted with and/or read as a text. It included (among many other elements) a large, ever-changing selection of hands-on altered books and artists’ books on tented tables (see Altered Books), a bas-relief bookshelf / library stack / wall mural titled SILENCE, a separate, semi-private Reading Room, and a flock of flying books.
Library was exhibited many times, in full or in part, from 1990 – 2007. It no longer exists as a complete work. The images below are from some of my favourite venues, places where it just seemed to fit beautifully.
